Meet the Knights of the Comedy
Sir Chris Dingli
Sir Chris of the Dingli has travelled far and wide slaying audiences with his wit and jesting abilities. His recent endeavours have seen him hailed as a Bad Dad and as
a jester on the stand-up comedy circuit. He has also pleased the general public in shows such as Rock of Ages and The Odd Couple. He is in high demand at various courts for his abilities as a comedic wordsmith for both stage and screen. 2017 is set to be a busy year for Sir Chris as he unleashes brand new shows upon the domain! Sir Marc Cabourdin
Sir Cabourdin always wants to fight the good fight... he battles on the side of artistic integrity, and celebrates his victories with nights of debauchery, well at least he did many moons ago! He disappeared to Provincia Britannia for a few years, where he honned his skills, under the psudonym Kun T. Rash, and today has returned to prepare our land for the great battle which lies ahead in the glorious year of our lord two thousand and eighteen.
Lady Jo Caruana
Lady Jo loves a good laugh, and is especially fond of sparring with the knights to prove she’s no helpless damsel. Best known for gu aw-inducing roles as Brooke in Noises O and Emma in All New People (both Masquerade), Elle in Legally Blonde and Stephanie in You’ve Got Hate Mail (both for Mellow Drama) and Mimi in Allo Allo (FM Theatre), she has also tread the boards in numerous pantomimes and dramatic shows to boot. When she’s not prancing about on stage, Jo runs the very serious (ish) copywriting, PR and content creation company Writemeanything.com, and the corporate training company Finesse Consulta.
Lady Pia Zammit
It is not the rst time Lady Pia has done comic battle on the stage, for she has won the hearts of many in comedies such as ‘Allo ‘Allo, You’ve Got Hate Mail and Fatboy! The major mystery that shrouds Lady Pia is that what goes into her cleavage is never seen again! Join her this year on stage as she brings more surprises and causes more mayhem! By day, Lady Pia battles onwards and upwards on her quest to hone the nation’s Public Speaking skills.
Sir Thomas Camilleri
Sir Thomas, Keeper of the Hairy Camels and Steward of the Holy Rolling Pin, is enjoying life in Malta. When not letting his creative juices ow at Switch or onstage, he enjoys several pastimes which Malta has to o er, including kayaking on the Coast Road, campaigning for antidisestablishmentarianism and creating epic
Best Man videos. Once again, Sir Thomas wishes to thank all local politicians and celebrities for providing the Comedy Knights with so much material.
Sir Steve Hili
Lord Steve is actually a real lord. That is true. He found out that you can actually buy a lordship title for like £10. So he did. He thought it would open up a world of opportunities and his life would become one big party with him hanging out in the upper echelons of society and wielding loads of in uence. Bargain for a tenner, right? Apart from being taken in by scams, Steve does lots of comedy stu too, like dong stand up all over Europe, and writing and directing the annual adult panto in summer. Oh and he has just released a book called ‘State of the Nation’ all about what being Maltese is like. Buy it. Go on. Go on.. Go ON!
Sir Colin Fitz
Lord Colin of the Fitz has jestered and minstrelled in the musicals Rock of Ages (2016), The Rocky Horror Show, Kiss Me Kate, South Paci c and Cabaret. He has also caroused in the pantomimes Robin Hood meets the Babes in the Wood, Cinderella and The Curse of Snow White and comedies Bla Kommixin 3, My First Time, ’Allo ’Allo, Are You Being Served, All the Great Books, The Odd Couple, Yes, Prime Minister and Arsenic and Old Lace. He once used sorcery and witchcraft to ensure he was awarded the MADC Most Promising Actor Award. He is fond of banqueting, wenches, broadcasting, cats and jousting and is a fully paid-up member of the Flat Earth Society.
Lady Chantelle Micallef Grimaud
Lady Chantelle has graciously taken a leave of absence from her ventures in Brittania to aid the Knights on their quest to achieve comedy brilliance. Speaking of brilliance, Chantelle studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland following an MA in Musical Theatre Performance after having read for a Masters in Creativity & Innovation and graduated from a BA in English & Theatre Studies at the University of Malta. Music and comedy has seen her take to the boards most recently in Love Me Tinder Cabaret at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and in Sir Steve’s Adult Panto last summer. Other roles include Etelvina in Angeleta and Etelvina as part of the Firsts Festival at the Little Angel Theatre London, Captain Nel and Lurch in The Girl Who and The Addams Family respectively, as well as Darling Ghost, all performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Olga in Chekhov’s Three Sisters, the Wife in Federico Garcia Lorca’s Blood Wedding, and Glinda in The Wizard of Oz Pantomime. She served as creative director to #IamHazZabbar as part of the community outreach program Pjazza f’Pjazza and has most recently co-produced and directed Project Cabaret.
Sir Wesley Ellul
Sir Wesley of the House of Ellul, has been treading the boards, and falling o of them, for over 18 years, having played any role that came his way, from actor to director, and stage hand to Artistic Director of MADC. Along the way he’s had the good fortune of being at the helm of some of Malta’s most memorable shows from Rock of Ages to Spring Awakening and My First Time, not to mention creating eight original shows including R&J Forever a ‘mashup musical’ and the infamous Dingle Bells Malcolm Smells. Since then, Wesley has married the most patient, kind and caring woman in the world, and with her embarked on the wild journey known
as parenthood, raising their own little Princess Georgia! What adventures lay in store for this knight in 2017 still remain to be seen, but knowing him, they will be something spectacular!
